NGG advised Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) on introducing new FMCG products and Tea Project
CCA is one of the largest bottlers and distributors of non-alcoholic and alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages in the Asia Pacific region and one of the world’s prominent bottlers of the Coca-Cola Company’s range of products. CCA has constantly been redefining its approach for the creation of long-term sustainable value, which means pursuing growth through the lens of seeking positive impacts for people, customers, partners, consumers, the environment and the community.
NGG was engaged by the Group Managing Director (GMD) Terry Davis to source FMCG products (ready-to-eat-meals, condiments, and snacks) from India for SPC Ardmona (the food business of CCA). Under Mr Davis’s leadership, CCA has transformed its earnings base by developing from what was primarily a carbonated beverage company into a broader-based beverage and food company with a portfolio that includes spring water, fruit juices, coffee, flavoured milk, SPC Ardmona packaged ready-to-eat fruit and vegetable products and premium alcoholic beverages.
NGG’s team made regular visits to India, met with many manufacturers throughout India, and created several potential food lines that would suit SPC Ardmona. During these visits to India NGG sourced some organic tea, which was presented to the GMD.
The GMD asked NGG to be involved in the CCA Tea project. CCA had acquired Grinders Coffee and was getting into hot beverages sector. NGG assisted the Tea project team with sourcing organic teas. NGG worked with all business units within CCA including, senior management, project team, procurement team, quality assurance, legal, retail, sales and marketing, distribution, etc. NGG was instrumental in developing and launching SIMPLICITEA TEA for CCA. NGG secured a contract for three years to supply private label tea to CCA.
